Pool owners who learn a little about heating and cooling options can save a lot, create a better backyard experience for family and guests, and extend their season. You have a couple heating choices – heat pumps, gas and electric heaters. For pools, the choices are gas heaters and heat pumps. Gas heaters are the best choice to raise a pool's water temperature fast. Hayward's gas heaters are 84% efficient, and can save up to 18% on energy costs from their advanced hydraulics. Low nitrous oxide (NOx) emission levels make them a perfect choice for the environmentally concerned pool owner and using erosion-resistant cupro nickel (CuNi) heater exchangers makes them the perfect match up with salt chlorinated pools. The forced draft system constantly moves air through the combustion chamber to eliminate all outside weather variables affecting heating performance, such as wind conditions, eliminating the need to install a high-wind stack. They heat by "pumping" heat from the air to the pool. The same technology can be used in reverse to cool your pool's water by pumping heat from the pool to the air.
